Sports Unlimited: FMA Segment Taping

Luneta is hot as usual. The weather was different that day. The sun is up but the temperature seems constant. One after another different Arnis groups and masters came. Not many were there though. Many of them were greeting each other as soon as they meet. Each was expressing about the sudden invitation. One of our friends had only received the invitation last 12:00MN. Everybody had the same sentiment.

This assembly was not really a press conference as what we've been informed earlier. It was actually for the taping of a segment about FMA for ABS-CBN's Sports Unlimited program to be hosted by Diane Castillejo and Sen. Migz Zubiri. When they arrived, they were the ones who first greeted us. Pictures and videos were done immediately. After that was the preparation for the taping of the show. Everyone who wanted to perform were given a chance. Each group performed one by one while being interviewed by Diane Castillejo. There were also masters who were present at the gathering. Some more notable than others. There was even someone who came from Mindoro just to do a short performance. What a passion!
Among the masters were: Vic Sanchez, Rodel Dagooc, JR Tortal, Bambit Dulay,June Abaya, & many others of which we're not really familiar. At the end of all performances, everybody gathered for a group picture where we all ended the assembly and shouted "ARNIS!" We finished at about 2:00pm and went our separate ways. We heard that this would be aired next Saturday. We'll be watching it and hope that with this airing is good progress for the Filipino Martial Arts. Mabuhay ang Arnis!
